Dolphin Calf Rescued Thanks to Conservation Collaboration

A bottlenose dolphin calf was rescued in the northern part of the Indian River Lagoon near Titusville, Fla. Thursday after the marine mammal became entangled in fishing gear. The NOAA Marine Debris Program, in partnership with the National Centers for Coastal Ocean Science, reports that at least 115 species are impacted by entanglement in marine debris each year.

Georgia Aquarium Participates in America Recycles Day

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency estimates that 75 percent of solid waste is recyclable, but only about 30 percent is actually recycled. Georgia Aquarium has taken the America Recycles day pledge to help increase awareness about recycling and its benefits.
