As Vice President and General Manager of Marineland Dolphin Adventure, Kurt Allen is responsible for the leadership of the facility located in St Augustine, Florida.

Allen graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Restaurant, Hotel and Institutional Management from Purdue University, and started his 30 year hospitality career with Hyatt Hotels in Chicago.  After several years of gaining experience in operations, a new opportunity brought Allen to Pebble Beach Resorts in Pebble Beach, California.  During his tenure at Pebble Beach, he directed the rooms division at the coveted Lodge at Pebble Beach and then was a National Sales Director for the three properties and courses within the resort.

After relocating to the Big Island of Hawaii and serving as an executive for several years at Mauna Lani Bay Hotel and Bungalows, Allen took over the role as General Manager at Dolphin Quest Hawaii.  At Dolphin Quest, in addition to overall responsibility of the facility, he was instrumental in the Customer Service Team, Future Development Team, and a member of the Kona-Kohala Chamber of Commerce and a Board Member of the Pacific Marine Life Foundation.

After leaving Hawaii, Allen led the Sales and Marketing (including fractional ownership sales) teams at Carmel Valley Ranch Resort and Portola Hotel and Spa both located on the Monterey Peninsula.  During this time, he was a member of the hotel’s Executive Committee, member of the Service Advocate Team, Board Member of the Northern California Chapter of the Society of Incentive Travel Executives (SITE) and on the SITE International Annual Meeting Committee.  In 2008, Allen was recruited by the Georgia Aquarium to lead the team at the Dolphin Conservation Center at Marineland.  After the purchase by Georgia Aquarium in 2011, Allen has been instrumental in repositioning the renamed Marineland Dolphin Adventure.

He is the 2014-2015 Chairman of the Florida Attractions Association (Board Member since 2009), member of the Flagler County Tourist Development Council, and a member of the Industry Relations Committee with Visit Florida.
