ATLANTA (Sept. 12, 2014) Georgia Aquarium will host its annual Aqua Vino event on Thursday, Oct. 9. The event will be held in Georgia Aquarium’s magnificent Oceans Ballroom from 6 – 10 p.m. and all proceeds from this year’s event will benefit sea turtle research and conservation projects.

Aqua Vino provides guests with an unforgettable evening featuring more than 200 wines, gourmet food from 30 of Atlanta’s premier restaurants, a full night of entertainment including the Aquarium’s five distinct, vibrant galleries that feature over 500 species of aquatic life, and live, silent and wine auctions. As a memento, guests will receive a collectable Reidel wine glass to enjoy wines throughout the night and after the event.

VIP guests will receive exclusive access to Aqua Vino that includes early event admission at 6 p.m. with red carpet arrival, as well as access to the VIP lounge with reserve wines and exceptional cheeses. These guests will also get the opportunity to be the first to sample all atrium wines and restaurants, and participate in behind-the-scenes tours throughout the evening. The Grand Tasting will take place from 7-10 p.m.

Aqua Vino is Georgia Aquarium’s largest fundraiser of the year and proceeds will help support the Aquarium’s sea turtle research and conservation efforts.  Sea turtle research is part of Georgia Aquarium’s 4R Program, which encompasses, supports and funds efforts in the areas of rescue, rehabilitation, research and responsibility.
