ATLANTA (September 23, 2015) - Georgia Aquarium has been named Best Tourist Spot for Locals, along with the Atlanta Beltline, in Creative Loafing’s 2015 annual issue of Best of ATL. The best of list is a snapshot of what Atlanta can offer.  The magazine recruited 10 readers as guest critics to pick their favorite attractions around Atlanta. They also provided an open poll on their website for other readers to cast their votes. Georgia Aquarium was featured in the cityscape section for this year’s list.  This is the fifth time the Aquarium has been chosen as a top pick in the Best of ATL issue. Creative Loafing named Georgia Aquarium Best New Attraction in Atlanta four year running from 2006 to 2009. 


Other Georgia Aquarium awards and recognition for 2015 were from Trip Advisor, which named Georgia Aquarium the No. 1 aquarium in the United States and the second most popular aquarium in the world. Thrillist also mentioned the Aquarium in its list of Best Tourist Attractions in Every State for Georgia and its ATL Bucket List: 41 Things You Need To Do Before You Die. Georgia Aquarium was at the top of USA Today’s 10 Best Reader’s Choice Awards list for Best Aquarium as chosen by the readers of USA Today.
