Don’t let being stuck at home get you down. Did you know you are helping the planet just by staying inside?

A big reason you are helping by staying home, is you are using less gasoline, therefore reducing your carbon emissions and pollution being released into the air. So, kick back, relax and enjoy getting to stay in your pajamas all day.

Here are some other ways you can help our planet while at home:

Water Conservation:
While it is great that we are all washing our hands more often these days, it is important to remain mindful of water waste. Simply turning off the water while you scrub along to the ‘happy birthday’ song, can help conserve water.

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle:
You’ve probably heard this one before but following these practices can really make a difference. Recycling reduces the amount of waste sent to landfills, reduces pollution and saves energy. While we are all trying to ‘reduce’ our trips to the store, it’s a great time to find creative ways to ‘reuse’ items around the house. Paper towel rolls and wine corks make great crafting items, while old glass jars can be reused as containers. If you do head to the grocery store, take a canvas bag with you instead of using the paper and plastic ones at check-out.

Electricity Conservation:
Don’t forget to turn off or unplug lights during the day, or while a room is not in use. Doing so will save energy and help your lights last longer as you find yourself at home more often!

Get Outdoors:
Spring has sprung, and planting a garden is a great project you can do as a family that promotes sustainability. Not only can you provide your family with fresh vegetables and plants, gardens also help to clean the air and ground by reducing pollution and producing oxygen.
