MARINELAND, FLA. (July 21, 2015) - The female dolphin calf born at Marineland Dolphin Adventure on July 12th is in guarded condition. The calf has developed a respiratory condition that is being investigated with further diagnostic testing. The mother, Casique, is in good health and is with her calf. The calf has had several days of successful nursing and appears to be getting milk, however her weight gain has not reached the expected growth curve. Our team is with Casique and the calf around-the-clock to care for and monitor their health. The next few days will be critical. Additional information about the dolphin calf’s condition will be reported as it is available.
