With all new presentations, exhibits and adventures, the Aquarium is sure to create an experience of a lifetime for guests of all ages. We hope you are ready to explore! Here are the top five things to do this summer at Georgia Aquarium:
SunTrust Pier 225’s live California sea lion presentation, Under the Boardwalk, has been making waves, literally, at the Aquarium since its opening on March 31, 2016. The sea lion presentation gives guests the opportunity to see California sea lions in an intimate setting while learning more about these social marine mammals as they interact with their trainers. Show times for Under the Boardwalk vary daily.
Get ready to celebrate Atlantic bottlenose dolphins at AT&T Dolphin Celebration! This high-energy performance celebrates the beauty, grace, athleticism, and intelligence of bottlenose dolphins. Guests have the chance to watch the dolphins and their trainers in action while learning more about these majestic mammals through a variety of new behaviors. This 30-minute presentation is the perfect way to kick off your summer, so bring the whole family and get excited to celebrate Atlantic bottlenose dolphins - be sure to watch out for the splash zone! 3. Washed Ashore: Art to Save the Sea
Georgia Aquarium is currently hosting the traveling art exhibit, Washed Ashore: Art to Save the Sea now through Sept. 25. On display at Georgia Aquarium are 13 sculptures made from marine debris in the Washed Ashore exhibit, including a nine-foot penguin sculpture, a tropical coral reef replica and a walk-through whale bone ribcage. Not only are the pieces visually appealing, but each piece of art also offers educational information for guests and how to help reduce, refuse, reuse, recycle and repurpose.
Get ready to dive into Georgia Aquarium's revamped Aquanaut Adventure: A Discovery Zone gallery! The educational and interactive exhibit is known for its engaging, game-based learning and has been outfitted with additional games, installations and features to enhance the guest experience. The exhibit upgrades create an immersive and engaging learning experience that emphasizes Georgia Aquarium’s commitment to science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics (STEAM) education.
Make sure to check out the newly-renovated 4D Funbelievable Theater. The 4D Funbelievable Theater is one of the most advanced in the world and is now screening an adapted version of “Happy Feet.” This 15-minute film features interactive seats, a state-of-the-art sound system other unique special effects that make this an immersive experience for the whole family to enjoy! The 4D Theater has with multiple shows per day.
