The Perfect Summer Sour

Atlanta Brewing Company and Georgia Aquarium are excited to announce their newest addition to the beer collection: Sea Lion Sour!

Atlanta Brewing Company, Atlanta’s oldest operating craft brewer, and Georgia Aquarium, the largest aquarium in the Western Hemisphere, have produced a new and exclusive craft beer that brings attention to one of Georgia Aquarium’s beautiful animals, the California Sea Lion. Sea Lion Sour is a gently tart ale with a blend of sea salts, raspberry and blueberry. A portion of the proceeds from Sea Lion Sour’s sales will go towards Georgia Aquarium’s vital research and conservation efforts.

During the month of June, in honor of World Oceans Month, select Buffalo Wild Wings locations will carry Georgia Aquarium and Atlanta Brewing’s newest beer. A portion of Sea Lion Sour sales will go towards Georgia Aquarium’s research and conservation efforts. With each food or beverage purchase, Buffalo Wild Wing customers will also have the option to round up to the nearest dollar as an additional contribution toward Georgia Aquarium’s research and conservation fund. Help us support a healthy ocean throughout World Ocean’s Month and year-round!

Make sure to mark your calendars for the Sea Lion Sour release party at Atlanta Brewing Company on June 7th! Enjoy an evening of craft beer and live music by Matt Carroll.

Can’t wait? This limited-edition beer will also be available at select Buffalo Wild Wings throughout Atlanta beginning June 3. Don’t miss your chance to taste it!

Helping California Sea Lions

Georgia Aquarium has been proud to provide a home for two rescued California sea lions. These animals are survivors of California’s current unusual mortality event (UME), which has left more than 3,000 starving sea lions along California’s beaches this year alone. Despite multiple attempts by marine mammal centers to rehabilitate these young sea lions for release back into the wild, many pups continue to wash ashore and are deemed non-releasable by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA Fisheries). When an animal is not fit to be released, NOAA Fisheries, along with the zoological community, finds homes for them. Two pups that were affected by the UME and that were deemed non-realeasable are now welcomed into our permanent care at Georgia Aquarium.
