Georgia Aquarium and the Georgia Department of Revenue have teamed up to offer Georgia drivers a newly redesigned specialty license plate aimed to recognize the Aquarium and its mission of ocean conservation.
The new plate design brings attention to Georgia Aquarium’s two iconic species, whale sharks and manta rays. Each license plate sold will provide a $20 donation to Georgia Aquarium’s research and conservation efforts. These proceeds will continue Georgia Aquarium’s global research and conservation initiatives including, tagging and health assessments of whale sharks in the ocean, aerial surveys and tagging of manta rays in Florida waters, rehabilitation and release of African penguins in South Africa, and many more.
“We are excited to work with the Georgia Department of Revenue again to offer a one-of-a-kind plate that will display two of Georgia Aquarium’s forefront species,” said Josh Cherfoli, senior director of marketing and digital engagement at Georgia Aquarium. “This is a great way for our fans to not only to help benefit efforts being made towards conservation of these and other aquatic species, but also to show their own love for these animals.”
Georgia Aquarium’s specialty license plate is currently available. You can apply for one at your county tag office through the same process you use to apply for a standard plate.
